Does anyone else find it chilling how close the suspects came to being caught earlier that night? Thomas Waters apparently hit another Stop-N-Go before targeting the one where David Cahill was working. It's baffling how these senseless acts just kept unfolding without an immediate stop. Makes you wonder if a quicker call or sharing more info between stores might have made a difference that night.
Appreciating all those who’ve talked about David's dreams and kindness; it's clear he was an incredible person with so much ahead of him. Knowing that bright future was cut short is hard to come to terms with. It’s another reminder about the importance of supporting night workers and ensuring their safety. It’s heartening, at least, that justice was served and that the community rallied around his family then and continues to remember him even now. Sending strength to David’s loved ones.
I've been reflecting on the bravery David Cahill showed in his last moments, especially considering he was just 23. It's so hard to wrap my head around how someone could have the presence of mind to call for help after being shot. To me, that speaks volumes about his character and determination. I can only imagine the pain his family must have felt during that call, knowing he reached out but they weren't able to save him. It's a chilling reminder of the sacrifices that young workers, like David, make every day when they're just trying to get by and achieve their dreams. Thinking of those who loved him and hope they found some comfort in knowing that he tried to fight till the very end and that justice was served in his name. Anyone else moved by the fact that he didn't just give up, even in his final moments? It makes me wonder how many bright futures are lost to senseless violence.
