I've been thinking a lot about the aftermath of Officer Phegley's murder and the impact it must have had on his family and the community. It’s hard to imagine the pain his parents and brother endured, losing someone who was not only a dedicated officer but also a part of their daily lives. His aspirations and dreams were abruptly cut short, not just for him, but for the whole family who must have supported him through his journey to become a police officer. When reading about the parole hearings, I can't help but feel a mix of emotions. While Anthony Wayne McIntosh is behind bars, I often wonder how Phegley’s family faces the recurring hearings, each one a reminder of their loss. It seems like such a tough ordeal to relive those emotions again and again. I just hope they’ve found some form of peace or solace over the years, knowing Jeffrey’s sacrifice is remembered and honored by so many. Thoughts are with them, and with all of us who remember and learn from these tragic events.
