Was reading through the details of William Herbert Pear's case, and something struck me as odd. He left all his personal belongings behind, right? If he was planning a quick trip, you'd think he'd at least take some essentials. It's almost like he intended to come back right away, but then something unexpected happened. Also, the fact that he mentioned he was going with 'someone' but didn’t specify who, sticks out. Could it be that he trusted this person and didn’t think he needed anything because it was just a brief ride? Or maybe he was in a hurry and forgot his things? So many unanswered questions... It's been so many years, but I still feel like someone out there knows something. Anyone else have any theories about why he'd leave everything behind?

Has anyone ever looked into William Herbert Pear's connection to hitchhiking? I find it a bit strange that he mentioned traveling with someone but didn't specify who. If he planned to hitchhike, could he have met someone who offered him a ride spontaneously? It makes me wonder if that person might have been overlooked by investigators or if there's more to this aspect of the case. Given the era and the hitchhiking culture back in the 80s, it's possible he crossed paths with the wrong person. I think it would be worth revisiting possible hitchhiking routes and roadside sightings that might not have been thoroughly explored back then. Anyone familiar with the area or the time period have any thoughts or insights?

Hey folks, was revisiting the William Herbert Pear case from back in '85, and something caught my attention—why Long Beach? I know he mentioned heading there, but has anyone looked into why that destination was significant? Did he have friends or family there, or was it purely work-related? Also, given that he left everything behind, I'm wondering if there's more to the story. Anyone else find it odd that he didn’t even take his personal items with him if he expected to return the next day? I can't shake the feeling there might be someone out there who knew of his plans. Anything new since the last update? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.
