I've been following the case of Male Mead Camper, and it just strikes me how much more support the Detroit Police Department could have used back in 2011. It's not just about one case; it's a whole network of lives impacted by the system's struggle to cope with overwhelming violence. Camper's story makes me think about all those families waiting for answers, waiting for justice that seems so elusive. Despite the odds, I have a lot of respect for the officers and detectives who keep pushing forward. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be to work on these cases with limited resources, knowing that each one represents someone's son, brother, or friend, like Camper. I'm hopeful that with better technology and increased awareness, families like his might finally get some closure. In the meantime, I think it's super important for us as a community to support every effort to bring attention to these cases. Our voices might be the pressure needed to get these long-ignored injustices back into the spotlight.
