I recently came across a documentary that discussed the case of Ashley and David from Barberton, and it made me think about how community support can make a difference after such tragedies. I can't stop wondering about the strength it must have taken for their father, John Kohler, to recover and face life without two of his children. It's noteworthy that the community came together so firmly, holding a candlelight vigil and offering support to the surviving family members. It warms my heart a little, even amidst the sadness, to know that people rallied around them. Has anyone else heard of similar community responses that helped families cope with such a terrible loss? It's crucial to remember the power of collective compassion during times of senseless violence.

Johnny died like 4 days later. Ashley and David’s mother is alive and is doing ok. The girlfriend of Johnny’s was the only survivor on that night. She is missing her eye. This was a revenge murder. The same guy (older one) just got out of prison after serving 16 yrs for the brutal rape of their great aunt. That guy knew what he was doing when he befriended Johnny. Sadly that couldn’t use this part in the trial but it should have been used. After those 2 killed everyone and was in jail their family started threatening Ashley and David’s mother. Could you imagine threatening the life of the mother who just lost her only 2 children because YOUR kids killed 3 people?!

Nothing will ever been the same without these 3. Ashley was 18 and just got engaged and had a puppy Ashely was so sweet and loving. David 15 was in band and was such a sweet kid. Johnny was funny and could make you laugh even if you were having a bad day.

Those 2 monsters should have gotten the DP.
