I can't even begin to imagine the pain that Hawken's family is going through. What really struck me about this case is the issue of how firearms are stored and accessed, especially when there are teens involved. I grew up in a house where guns were locked up tight, and there's just no room for accidents when it comes to firearms. It's terrifying to think that Hawken's friend was able to get his hands on a gun so easily, and it makes me wonder how many other homes have similar issues. It’s a conversation that definitely needs to happen more often. This tragedy has opened a lot of eyes in our community about the dire need for proper gun storage and the responsibility that comes with it. My thoughts are with Hawken’s family. They’re showing incredible strength during such an unimaginable time.
