I was just reading about Johnny Joe Shields' disappearance, and something struck me about the timing. He left the house around 2:00 a.m. on a cold December night. Does anyone else think it's unusual for someone to leave their home at that hour if not for something urgent or pre-arranged? Considering he left all his belongings behind, it feels like he had no intention of being gone long. I wonder if he got a call from someone he trusted that prompted him to step out at such an odd hour. Also, living so close to Omaha, I can't help but think about the connections between Carter Lake and Omaha, especially since he worked over there. Does anyone else have thoughts on how his workplace might factor into his vanishing?

Did anyone else ever find it strange how Johnny left everything behind, even his truck? It’s hard to wrap my head around someone vanishing without even making a withdrawal from the bank beforehand. I don’t think an adult just decides to up and leave with absolutely nothing, especially considering it was December and freezing cold at night. Could this indicate that whatever happened to him was sudden? Maybe someone he trusted showed up that night, and things took a wrong turn. Given the potential drug activity in the area, it's possible he stumbled upon something or someone he shouldn’t have. I wish we had more insight into his interactions that day or any tensions at work in Omaha. Does anyone know if there were any rumors about issues he might have had with anyone around that time?
