Hey everyone, I'm really hoping we can spotlight an angle in Korey Lamont Piert’s case that maybe hasn't been discussed enough. We all know Korey was tragically murdered back in November of 2011, and it's been agonizing for his family and friends who still have no answers. I came across something about the petition that Korey's family started, aiming to get his case more attention from the Detroit Police Department. It makes me wonder—how effective are these petitions in actually getting cases prioritized? With so many unsolved homicides in Detroit, it's frustrating to think that justice can depend heavily on resources and community push. I've read in some places that public pressure can actually help in cases like these, as it lights a fire under both law enforcement and the media. Does anyone here have any experience or knowledge about how these efforts have played out in the past, maybe in other cases in Detroit or elsewhere? It feels like Korey's family is doing everything they can to get answers, and any insights on how we can support them or similar cases could really make a difference. Sending love to Korey’s family and friends. Keep pushing for justice. ?

It breaks my heart to think of Korey Lamont Piert’s family still waiting for justice after all these years. I stumbled upon the petition his relatives started, and it just highlighted what so many families go through when homicides are left unanswered. Detroit has seen way too many of these cases stay cold, and it just doesn’t seem fair to the victims or their loved ones. What caught my attention is how Korey's family decided to take back some control by initiating this petition. It's such a powerful reminder of the lengths to which families will go to seek justice for those they’ve lost. It makes me wonder if there’s more we could be doing as a community to support families like Korey’s. For those of us who haven’t been through it, it’s probably hard to imagine the frustration and exhaustion that comes with the repeated pushing for progress and answers. Is anyone here local to Detroit who knows if there are any ongoing efforts or community groups focusing on cold cases like Korey's? It seems like a united front might be key to pushing for change and resources dedicated to solving these tragic incidents. Let's keep Korey’s memory alive and support his family in their fight for closure.
