Did anyone else catch the details about Martel Miller being the first in his family to graduate high school? My heart goes out to his family, especially his mom, Darla. It must be so difficult for them knowing how much he accomplished in his short life. He was obviously someone who aimed high and worked hard for a better future. It just adds another layer of devastation to his loss, knowing that he was this beacon of hope and achievement for his family. I can only imagine the pride they felt seeing him graduate and how they must cherish those memories now. While justice in the legal sense is crucial, I hope his family finds some peace in remembering and honoring all that Martel was beyond the tragedy. Sending love to them and especially to his young son who will grow up with only stories and memories of his dad.
