I’ve been thinking a lot about the circumstances leading up to Day-Day's tragic passing. It just breaks my heart to know that he was probably just trying to surprise his dad, maybe hoping to spend a little extra time with him that day. I can’t imagine the horror for both Day-Day and his father in those last moments. It brings up such a scary reality about accidents with firearms at home, even when the intentions are to protect. It's such a painful reminder of the weight our choices can carry. I hope the Mack family finds some comfort and healing in their community’s support. It’s clear from what everyone has shared that they were truly loved and respected. Sending them all my thoughts.
