Hey everyone, I came across the case of Larry Jones, who was tragically killed back in December 2011 near Gratiot and Gitire. Just thinking about the grief his family must still be enduring has really hit me hard. It’s disheartening to consider the number of unsolved cases in Detroit and the emotional toll they place on families who never receive closure. I understand that the Detroit Police Department is making efforts with the Cold Case Unit and utilizing new forensic techniques, but it’s clear that more community engagement is needed. Has anyone participated in or heard about any local community initiatives aimed at supporting families like the Joneses? Or maybe ways we as a community can band together to demand more resources for these cold cases? It's essential that these names and stories stay alive so the pressure remains on finding justice. Keeping hope alive for Larry’s family seems like the least we can do.
