I've been following Dominique Alexander's case and my heart goes out to his family and friends, especially his mom, Charlotte. I keep thinking about the role of community spaces for youth in preventing tragedies like this. Dominique was so young and had a bright future ahead, especially with his passion for sports. I'm wondering, are there any community initiatives in Toledo (or elsewhere) that focus on creating safe havens for teenagers? Spaces where they can engage in positive activities and find mentors? It seems like such programs could make a real difference in preventing future incidents and giving kids a chance to thrive in a supportive environment. Hoping something good can come from all this tragedy. If anyone knows of programs in the area or ways to get involved, please share.
