Wow, the plot twists in Barnett's case are something you'd only expect in a thriller novel. I've been curious about something—does anyone know if there were any other witnesses who might have seen Barnett on the night he disappeared, especially after he left the club? With so many bars and clubs in the Lakeview area, it seems like someone might have remembered seeing him. Also, why did it take 20 years for Abney's brother to come forward? It just seems like such a long time to hold onto such a heavy secret. I mean, it makes you wonder if there's more to his story, or if he could have been involved more than he's let on. Considering how crowded Lakeview gets on a weekend night, it baffles me that no one else came forward sooner with any observations or tips.
Does anyone else find it strange how Martin took his own life on the same day Abney was arrested? It seems like either an overwhelming sense of guilt or fear of what might be revealed if he was apprehended. This timing feels too coincidental to be just an accident. Also, considering the police hadn't gotten to him yet, I've been wondering if there was more to his story that we might never know. Did he leave any notes or messages behind? Maybe he was worried Abney was going to talk—and indeed, she did end up placing a lot of the blame on him. Just a thought. Anyone else got insights on this aspect?
Hey everyone, I was just thinking about the whole car situation in Barnett's case. It's so strange how his girlfriend's car was found abandoned in the Lakeview area days after he vanished. What's especially eerie is that the car wasn’t there when his friends first searched the area. It makes me wonder if whoever had it was trying to evade detection or if it was placed there deliberately to throw people off. The car could hold so many clues about that night, like who drove it or if it made any stops along the way. Did they ever find anything significant in or around it when it was discovered? Curious to hear everyone's thoughts on this part of the case.
