It's been a few years since LeMike's tragic passing, but I keep thinking about the struggle between him and Malik Baldwin. This one moment in the case truly stands out to me. One can only imagine the fear and confusion LeMike must have felt during those last moments. My heart goes out to his family, who were undoubtedly left with many unanswered questions. It's distressing to think about the array of choices that led to such a devastating outcome that day. We’ve got to continue discussing ways to prevent gun violence and support victims' families in finding some degree of peace or closure. There’s a community here that remains strong and steadfast, and I hope that LeMike’s loved ones continue to find support in each other.

It must have been an unsettling time for the neighborhood on Sumner Street, with an armed suspect on the loose. Did anyone here hear about community initiatives or get-togethers to promote peace or help those in mourning? Sometimes communities come together in powerful ways after such tragedies, and those stories can be incredibly inspiring.
