Does anyone else keep thinking about the role of public spaces in tragedies like the one with Aramis Roey? It's supposed to be a place where people feel safe and enjoy time with family and friends, yet violence creeps in and shatters lives. Gawron Park, meant to be a hub for community and fun, became a site of tragedy that day. I can't imagine how Roey's family must feel every time they pass by. It’s so important that communities work together towards making these spaces safe again. The strength shown by Aramis' loved ones at that vigil is incredible. Hoping for more proactive measures to make public spaces safe for everyone. How do the rest of you feel about this?

Did anyone else attend the vigil for Aramis Roey back in 2017? I remember the atmosphere being somber yet filled with a strong sense of community support. It seemed like everyone who knew him or heard about his story showed up to pay their respects. I was struck by the number of people who spoke about Aramis’s character and how he was always willing to help others. It's so tragic that his life was cut short while trying to do just that—help. How are his family and nephews holding up nowadays? I can't imagine what they’ve been through. It’s moments like these that remind us of the importance of community in coping with such losses. Anyone have any updates or stories they remember about that day?
