I recently came across Donald Wayne Ellenburg's case from 1996, and something that's been on my mind is why he turned down help when people stopped to assist him. It's such a puzzling detail. It's worth considering if maybe he was trying to meet someone and didn’t want anyone else involved or perhaps he felt he could get himself unstuck and didn’t think it was a big deal. But given how everything turned out, it's hard not to think there might be more to it. The fact that his family's suggesting foul play also makes me wonder if there was someone he might have been wary of. I wish there were more answers for his family after all these years. If anyone has theories on why he might have declined help, I'd love to hear them!
