I’ve been thinking a lot about the surveillance footage from outside Rick's Jazz Lab. It's chilling to think that a moment caught on camera can capture such a horrific act. How many lives did it change that night, not just Harris and James, but their friends, family, and especially their children? It really makes me wonder about the steps leading up to this tragedy. Why did it escalate to this? I hope that being behind bars means Davison can't hurt anyone else, but it doesn't change the fact that two little children have lost their parents and three daughters lost their dad. Looking at these details, we’re reminded that there’s a need for deeper conversations around gun violence and its impact. Keeping Harris and James’s families in my thoughts.
