Has anyone else been following the surveillance video details released in Desean Bonet's case? It's so unsettling to think about what Desean must have been feeling in those last few moments. The footage makes it clear that he was trying to get away, and yet Collins still pursued him with a gun. I can't imagine the terror Desean experienced, thinking he could somehow get to safety. I'm really trying to wrap my head around Collins' claim of self-defense. The jury didn't buy it, and honestly, from what I see and hear, it seems like an overreach to even attempt that position. My heart goes out to Desean's family, especially knowing they had to watch and relive those moments through the video evidence. I hope they find some peace and strength in the memories of Desean and have the support of their community during this incredibly difficult time.
