I can't stop thinking about the impact this tragedy must have had on the West End community. Can you imagine living in a neighborhood where you're suddenly waking up to dozens of shots ringing out in the early morning hours? My heart goes out to all the residents who had to witness such violence so close to home. It's absolutely terrifying and upsetting that people had to see their community turned into a crime scene overnight.
I've been wondering if there are any community efforts underway to help support the residents who might be feeling scared or helpless after such a traumatic event. Sometimes, local organizations or groups band together for vigils or community meetings to show solidarity and to discuss how they can prevent more violence from happening. Does anyone know if anything like that has been organized?
Also, I’m hopeful that someone in the area might have seen something or knows something and will come forward. Every little bit of information could help the investigation, and I just want to see Donte’s family get the closure they deserve. It’s so important for people to speak up if they can.
Has anyone else been thinking about the impact on the West End neighborhood after the tragic loss of Donte Ford? I drove through the 900 block of Findlay Street recently, and it struck me how quiet and somber it felt compared to its usual bustling vibe. It's hard to imagine what the residents must be feeling knowing this happened right on their doorsteps. That stretch with all the evidence markers must have been a chilling sight, and it’s really unsettling to think about how this could affect the community in the long haul. Sending thoughts to Donte's family and hoping neighbors feel safe and supported while dealing with this ordeal. If anyone in the community has more insights or thoughts, would love to hear how everyone's holding up.
