It's been over a decade since Terry Bourne was tragically taken from us, and it still pains my heart to think about the unresolved aspects of his case. The Detroit Police Department's Cold Case Unit is doing their best, but it's absolutely frustrating to see how the lack of resources and community participation hindered progress for so long. Terry was one of those souls lost in a sea of unresolved homicides that cast a shadow over Detroit. One thing I’ve been pondering is how vital community tips can be. It’s more than just forensic technology that’s needed; sometimes it’s about that one piece of information someone might be holding onto. There's got to be someone out there who knows something significant. If you've heard anything, even if it seems small or unimportant, reaching out to Crime Stoppers or directly to the Cold Case Unit could be immense. Terry’s family deserves closure, and every tip counts toward finally getting justice for him. It's hopeful to see collaborations with organizations like the Michigan State Police, but we need more momentum from everyday citizens too. I'm hoping we can someday break this vicious cycle and see justice served for all those who lost their lives so violently.
