Hey everyone,
I can't stop thinking about the brave soul that Takeyra Collins must have been. Knowing she was found with multiple gunshot wounds in her own home—it’s just hard to fathom. I’ve been following this case closely, and what strikes me the most is how much strength it would take just to face such terrifying moments. It’s incredibly sad that a place meant for safety became the site of such tragedy. My heart goes out to her family and friends who are navigating this immense grief.
I also keep wondering about the community in Slavic Village and how they are coping. A neighborhood rallying together can be powerful, but losing four community members like this is an enormous weight to bear. Has anyone heard about any memorials or ongoing support efforts for the families involved? Let’s keep supporting each other in any way we can. These individuals should never be forgotten, and the community’s resilience in the face of such darkness is something we can all learn from.
I've been following the case of Takeyra Collins and the events in Slavic Village, and I can't stop thinking about the community's resilience. Slavic Village is such a close-knit area, and I imagine the losses felt that summer day in 2019 were felt throughout the neighborhood. It must have been devastating for everyone who knew the victims.
Thinking about the community rallies and remembrance events that likely took place, I hope they provided some space for healing and support. It's a reminder of how important community is in the face of tragedy. My heart goes out to everyone who knew Takeyra, David, and those sweet kids, and to those doing the hard work of trying to prevent such tragedies from happening again. How has the neighborhood been doing in the years since? Has there been any substantial community work addressing violence prevention in that part of Cleveland?
