I keep thinking about the call Lois made to Darryl. Trying to imagine how terrifying it must have been for her in those final moments is beyond chilling. It just goes to show how much Lois loved her kids—despite everything, her thoughts were with them. It’s really touching and so tragic that her last words were filled with love and concern for her family. My heart goes out to Darryl and their kids. It’s clear she was such a bright light in their lives. I hope they’re getting the support they need from the community to navigate through such an unimaginable loss. Her courage and love are incredibly moving.
I was reading through some of the personal stories shared by those who knew Lois L. Nae Oglesby, and one thing that truly stands out is her dedication to becoming a pediatric nurse. It's just so moving to think about how she was working towards a career centered around caring for children, especially when she had her own little ones at home. It seems like she had such a nurturing heart, and it breaks my heart that her dreams were cut short in such a senseless way. I can't even imagine what Darryl Lee and her kids must be going through. It's just such a loss not only for her family but for all the future patients she could have cared for. In times like these, it’s more important than ever to hold our loved ones close and support each other through the pain. Sending love and strength to everyone affected by this horrible tragedy.
Has anyone else heard about the heart-wrenching call Lois managed to make to her partner during the shooting? I just can't get over how brave and selfless she was, worrying about her kids even after she’d been shot. It's unbelievably tragic that someone with such a bright future, who was on her way to helping countless children as a pediatric nurse, had her life cut short. It's moments like these that make me truly appreciate the importance of community and support for the families left behind. Sending love to Lois's children and her whole family. I hope they find strength in the outpouring of support from everyone and in each other. ?
