I've been following Tiffany Rhea's case since it happened, and something that's been on my mind is the heartbreaking impact it must have had on her family, especially her son Jaylen. Losing a mother at such a young age is incomprehensible. It's such a cruel twist of fate that her life was taken during what should have been an ordinary moment. I also keep thinking about how brave she must have been to confront Tyree Omenai. It's deeply troubling that a robbery could escalate to such violence. I hope that with Omenai's conviction, there can be some semblance of closure or justice for Tiffany’s family. It’s so important that her story continues to be shared as a reminder of the senseless violence that needs to be stopped in communities everywhere.
