I was reading up on the James Sobralske case and something that's sticking with me is the plane itself. Does anyone know how common it is for a plane like his Aeronca Champ to just disappear like that, even over a body of water as large as Lake Michigan? I mean, it's been nearly two decades, and still no trace of the plane or wreckage has been found. With modern technology and search capabilities, I wonder why not a single piece has turned up? Plus, with his statement about crashing it, there should be some evidence, right? Anyone else find this odd or have more insights on how these types of searches usually go?
