I recently attended a memorial service held for them, and it was incredibly touching to see so many people come together to honor their lives. The stories shared about Michael’s kindness and his role in the community were truly moving. I’ve also heard from some locals that they’re organizing more events to keep their memories alive, which I think is such a beautiful way to support the families and friends who are going through unimaginable pain. It’s moments like these that really show the strength and resilience of a community in the face of such senseless tragedy.
