I’ve been following the tragic case of Brianna Nelson and her family, and it's so difficult to wrap my head around the entire situation. I wanted to touch on something that hasn’t been discussed much: the impact this had on the neighborhood kids and Brianna’s classmates. It's hard to imagine what they must be feeling, losing a friend and schoolmate so suddenly in such a horrific way. Crestwood Elementary seems to have been proactive in providing support services, which is crucial, but I can’t help but wonder about the long-term effects on those young minds. How do you explain something so senseless to children? And how do they process the loss of someone they played with on the soccer field or shared ballet recitals with? I’m hoping that the community can continue to support these kids long after the immediate shock has faded. My heart goes out to everyone affected, and I wish peace and healing to the entire Elyria community.
