Hey everyone, I've been following the tragic case of Shamyrion Edward Duke Alexander, and my thoughts are with his family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. Seeing how accidents like these keep happening is just so frustrating. One thing that has been on my mind is the role of gun safety awareness in our communities. I understand kids are curious and might find a way to get their hands on things they shouldn’t, but it seems like education around this issue is really lacking. Isn't there a way we could push for more community programs that specifically focus on teaching both parents and children about the importance of securing firearms? It just feels like a lot more could be done at a community level to prevent these tragedies before they occur. Has anyone heard of successful programs in other areas that maybe we could advocate for in Dayton? I'd love to hear thoughts or ideas on how the community might be able to come together to prevent future incidents. Again, my heart goes out to Shamyrion's family. No family should have to endure this kind of loss.
