I’ve been following the story of Kismet Sengdan, and the lack of accountability here is troubling. I can’t stop thinking about how easily this could have been prevented if there were stricter measures for safe gun storage. As a parent myself, it’s horrifying to imagine what Kismet’s family is going through right now. The fact that no charges have been filed yet is really concerning. How do we not hold someone responsible when a child’s life is lost due to negligence?
It seems like the Akron community is rallying around Kismet’s family, which is heartwarming, but we need systemic change to prevent future tragedies. Gun safety education and secure storage should be non-negotiable, especially in homes with children. Hoping that this pushes legislative change or at least awareness so we don’t have to see another tragedy like this.
What are your thoughts on how communities can come together to promote safe gun practices?
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the impact of Kismet's class and school after hearing about what happened. It's incredibly tough for kids to process such a loss, especially when it's one of their own classmates. Harris-Jackson CLC seems to be doing their best to offer support, but I can’t imagine how all those young kids are managing the emotional weight of this situation.
I hope the school continues to provide ongoing resources for the students, teachers, and families affected. Emotional support is crucial right now, and helping these kids understand their feelings can be a long process. I wonder if there’s anything more that local communities or individuals can do to provide additional support to the school and Kismet’s schoolmates. It’s so important that we pull together to lift each other up right now.
Wishing strength and healing to everyone touched by this tragedy.
I've been following the discussions about Kismet Sengdan's tragic passing, and I wanted to focus on the importance of community support after such an event. It's a difficult time for everyone, especially the children who were present when the accident happened. They must be experiencing an incredible range of emotions and trying to make sense of what they witnessed.
Akron Public Schools stepping up with support services is crucial. These kids need a safe space to talk about their feelings and process this tragedy. It's a reminder of the essential role schools and communities play in offering a safety net in times of crisis. I'm really hoping the community continues to foster an environment of healing and understanding for everyone involved. If anyone has information on local counseling or support groups offering help, please share it. The more we come together, the stronger we can be for Kismet's family and each other.
