I’ve been following the case of Layton Steel Ridgedell, and what stands out to me is just how senseless this violence is. It’s so difficult to fathom that two young people could make such devastating choices that would rip through so many lives, including their own. Layton seemed like someone who had a positive impact on those around him, and it’s clear his absence is felt deeply.
I can’t imagine what his mother, Shawna Bobst, is going through. The pain and determination she shows in fighting for justice must be a heavy burden. It’s heartening to see the community rallying around her, but nothing can truly fill the void left by the loss of a child. I hope for Layton’s sake, and for the peace of those who loved him, that justice is served and that lessons are learned to prevent such tragedies in the future.

I deeply admire her strength and determination to ensure justice is served. It can't be easy to speak out publicly amid such personal tragedy, but advocating for her son must provide some solace in this unimaginable situation. It’s inspiring to see how fiercely she maintains Layton’s memory and character, emphasizing that he was not involved in any danger-seeking activities.
Shawna’s focus on justice highlights the ongoing struggle for families affected by similar crimes and how important it is to hold perpetrators accountable. I hope the trial lays the foundation for some level of peace for Layton’s family. My thoughts are with them and the entire community as they navigate through such a challenging time.

I can't even begin to imagine the pain and anger his family, especially his mom, Shawna Bobst, must be going through. From what I've read, it seems like Layton truly was a wonderful young man with his entire life ahead of him. Just another reminder of how quickly things can change due to senseless violence.
It's hard not to think about what's going on in a teen's mind, like Terrell or Baron, to make them commit such a horrific crime. The community must be absolutely shattered, and my heart goes out to Layton's friends and family as they navigate this nightmare. It feels like there's no way to make sense of it all, but I hope justice will bring some form of solace to those who loved him. Let's all keep pushing for answers and justice for Layton.
