Has anyone else been following the Lorenzo Gray case? I can't stop thinking about how this terrible act happened right in front of his baby. It just breaks my heart to imagine the trauma that child might experience as they grow up.
What frustrates me the most is how Marquez Coleman and Charlie Dailey were out on the streets despite their long list of prior charges. It just feels like the system let the community down. Monitoring them with ankle bracelets didn't seem to do much when they could still move around so freely.
I really hope this case leads to some serious changes in how the justice system handles situations like this. Lorenzo deserved better, and his family deserves justice and peace of mind knowing that these kinds of oversight won't cost anyone else their lives. Anyone else feeling this way?
I can't stop thinking about Lorenzo's infant child and how they're going to grow up without their father. It's just devastating. I can't imagine the pain Lorenzo's family is feeling, knowing he was taken away in such a senseless act of violence. It really makes you question how effective these ankle monitors are if both Coleman and Dailey were able to roam free despite their history and pending charges. It's infuriating to think they could have been stopped before this tragedy happened. My heart goes out to Lorenzo's family, especially his child who will never know their dad's love and guidance firsthand. Justice needs to be served, but it won't ever truly heal the wound of losing a loved one like this.
