Hey everyone,
I've been closely following the tragic case of David Manson Jr., and I can't stop thinking about the impact this has had on the community. It happened in the middle of a Sunday afternoon, and the fact that there were bystanders injured too just shows how senseless and random gun violence can be.
I'm wondering if any of you have thoughts on community safety measures in East Oakland around that time. There must have been some local programs or initiatives trying to address this issue, right? It’s devastating that a young life was taken so abruptly, and equally worrying that no suspects were immediately identified. It makes you wonder how safe anyone really felt back then and how we can work towards making our communities safer now.
Sending my thoughts to David's family and friends who are undoubtedly still seeking justice and healing even years later.
I've been thinking a lot about the impact of community violence and how it changes the lives of everyone involved. Reading about David Manson Jr.'s case, I'm struck by the fact that bystanders were also hurt. It’s awful that someone running errands or visiting friends can become a victim in a blink, just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. It makes me wonder about the witness testimonies—not just from the survivors but anyone who might have been nearby. Did anyone see anything strange in the moments before? Little bits of info can be pieces of the puzzle. My heart goes out to David’s family, as well as to the injured woman and her loved ones. It’s these community mysteries that nag at you, hoping justice will eventually prevail.
