Has anyone else been following the safety meetings that local authorities have been holding since the tragic loss of Marquan? I've been attending a few and while it's encouraging to see action being taken, it's really upsetting to hear how many people feel unsafe in their own neighborhood. It's clear that something needs to be done about the loitering and previous incidents around places like Vibez. Marquan's passing should be a wake-up call for all of us to push for safer community spaces.
It's hard not to feel for his family and friends. They’re living through this every single day while trying to get justice for him. I can't imagine how difficult it must be for them to attend these meetings, hoping for changes that should have been in place long ago. Hoping the community and authorities keep the momentum going to finally put a stop to the violence in the area. We owe it to Marquan and others like him who were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Does anyone have more details about the safety measures being considered by local authorities following Marquan’s tragic death? I’m from the Youngstown area, and it’s alarming to think that a place frequented by so many people could become the site of such violence. Knowing that loitering and previous incidents were already issues, it’s clear there needs to be some sort of action taken. I’ve heard that increased police patrols and better lighting in high-traffic areas are on the table, but I’m curious if there are any confirmed plans. It’s so important for our community to remain vigilant and proactive in preventing further tragedies. My heart goes out to Marquan’s family and friends—it’s devastating to lose someone in such a violent way. Hopefully, we can work together as a community to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again.
