Has anyone else looked into the role of the cousin who was there during the shooting? I keep wondering what their involvement, if any, might have been. It's hard not to feel for Howell's family, knowing he was just trying to serve his community. But with the cousin present at the scene, I can't help but think there might be more to this. Was the cousin just in the wrong place at the wrong time, or do we think they played a part in the actual crime or helped the shooter get away initially? It's just a tangled web, and I can only imagine the frustration and grief Howell's family must have felt throughout this ordeal. Thoughts?
I was recently reading about the tragic case of Amos Wellington Howell, and something that stands out to me is the sheer determination of law enforcement back in those days. Can you imagine trying to track someone across states without the technology we have today? It's astounding that they actually caught the suspect in Wyoming and managed to bring him back. It goes to show the dedication and tenacity of Howell's colleagues, working tirelessly to ensure justice for his untimely death. My heart goes out to Howell’s family and the community that still honors his memory. Does anyone know if there's a memorial for him in Watauga County? It seems like his brave actions would inspire a lasting tribute.
