I’ve been following the case of Nereida Camacho-Garcia, and I can’t stop thinking about her kids. I read that one of them had to make the 911 call—what a traumatic experience, especially at such a young age. Being the ones to discover something was wrong and reaching out for help is a heavy burden for anyone, let alone a child. It breaks my heart knowing how profoundly this will impact their lives. I hope they have a strong support system around them to navigate through this incredibly tough time. The case itself is so distressing, particularly because it’s another incident in a span of just a few weeks in Durham County. Hopefully, this brings more attention to domestic violence issues and helps in preventing such tragedies in the future. Praying for strength for Nereida’s family and her children.
