I'm just so saddened by the news about Johnetta Wrisborne Duncan. Thinking about how she was just trying to be there for her young son when her life was cut short is truly distressing. It seems like there was so much tension simmering beneath the surface in that family. It makes me wonder if there were signs or red flags that could have been caught or if anyone felt there was a safe space to talk about these tensions. It's also quite alarming to learn that Thomas Duncan had previous gun-related charges that were dismissed. How did these past incidents not prompt more scrutiny, especially in a situation as volatile as this custody dispute? What's even more upsetting is knowing Johnetta's children will grow up without her presence. I hope her family receives the support they need in such a difficult time, and that justice finds its course.
