Johnetta Wrisborne Duncan, a 33-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on June 20, 2005, in Leland, North Carolina. The incident occurred outside the Duncan mobile home on Friendly Lane, where she had gone to pick up her 3-year-old son. Johnetta was separated from her husband, David Duncan, and had an altercation with her father-in-law, Thomas H. Duncan, 64, who subsequently shot her.
