Anyone else find it strange how there were no signs of forced entry at Susan's home? It's been on my mind a lot because it makes me think she might have known her attacker. She was such a kind-hearted person who opened her doors to everyone, which makes this even more unsettling. You never want to suspect someone close, but it feels like an angle that shouldn't be ignored. I really hope the police are looking into her social circle or any acquaintances she might have had. Her family deserves answers, and I'm holding onto hope that this piece of the puzzle could eventually lead to a breakthrough. It's just so frustrating not having closure on this. Anyone else have thoughts on the implications of no forced entry?

Hey everyone, I’ve been reflecting on Susan Ruth Pearce Hayes and her impact at Green Valley Elementary School. Stories from her students and colleagues about how she would go out of her way to make learning fun and personal for each child are truly inspiring. Hearing these accounts, it’s not hard to see how much warmth and positivity she brought to the school. It’s both comforting and bittersweet to know how profoundly Susan touched so many lives in her community. The fact that her case still remains unsolved is utterly disheartening, and I can only imagine the continued anguish her loved ones must feel. Her legacy at the school and in Boone is powerful, and I really hope that by keeping her story alive, we can eventually get the breakthrough that her case so desperately needs. If there’s anyone who was around Green Valley back in those days and might recall anything out of the ordinary, I encourage you to come forward. Every little bit of information could be crucial. Sending thoughts of strength and support to Susan’s family, friends, and former students—she clearly left a mark that time cannot erase.
