I can't stop thinking about how this tragedy could have been avoided. Did anyone else read about how Brown's handguns were returned to him despite the tension between him and Kevin Moseby? It's alarming that they were returned in the first place. From what I understand, military protocol usually errs on the side of caution, so why wasn't more done here? Robert Settle made a solid point when he criticized this move. It seems like such a lapse in judgment, and unfortunately, the consequences were devastating. My heart really goes out to both families involved, especially knowing this might've been preventable with just a bit more foresight. I hope the military takes this case seriously and reevaluates their policies around such matters to prevent something similar from happening again. Thoughts?
