I've been reading up on Benjamin "Bump" Shelvin Jr.'s tragic case, and there's something that keeps coming back to me—the strength and unity displayed by his family and community. Losing someone in such a violent and unexpected way is beyond devastating, yet seeing how his loved ones supported each other through this difficult time is a testament to Bump's legacy and the impact he had on those around him. The community gathering at Works For Christ and the service at Paradise Cemetery must have been profoundly moving. I can only imagine the wave of emotions as friends and family came together to share memories and honor his life. It's moments like these that show the resilience and love that can endure even after such an unimaginable loss. While justice appears to have started its course with the arrest of the suspect, it's crucial that we remember the people left picking up the pieces. Bump's children, Dynasty, Devonte', King, Kenyon, Harmony, and Sanaa, along with his parents and siblings, are all in my thoughts. It's so important that they continue to feel the support of the community and know that Bump's memory lives on in everyone who loved him.

I’ve been following Benjamin Shelvin Jr.’s case closely, and my heart goes out to his family, especially his children. I can’t even begin to imagine the loss they’re feeling. I read that the funeral service at Works For Christ was packed; it’s clear he was loved by many. I wonder how his kids, particularly little Harmony and King, are dealing with this absence. Hopefully, the arrest of the suspect helps a bit, but it doesn’t bring back a father, a son, a brother. It breaks me thinking about the impact of such a senseless loss on such young lives. How do they find peace moving forward? Let’s keep Benjamin’s family in our thoughts as they navigate life without him, and hope for continued love and support for his children.
