I recently came across an interesting detail I hadn’t seen discussed much about Jamel Monee McCoy’s case. I read somewhere that deputies used metal detectors to comb through the area for evidence the day after the incident. It made me wonder what kind of evidence they were hoping to find outside her home. Since Jamel was shot in the chest, could they have been looking for bullet casings or something else? I’d imagine any piece of evidence could be crucial in understanding everything that led up to this tragedy. If anyone has insight into how such searches are typically conducted or what they might have been hoping to find, I’d love to hear more. Sending thoughts and strength to Jamel’s family and friends as they continue to fight for justice.

I can’t stop thinking about how the community around Condary Road must be feeling in the aftermath of Jamel’s murder. It’s unnerving to know that something so tragic happened so close to where people felt safe. I was particularly struck by what Mandy Sauls, the neighbor, shared about hearing gunshots and not realizing what they were at first. I can't imagine the fear and confusion everyone there must be experiencing. I hope everyone in the area knows they're in our thoughts, and I hope they find comfort in coming together during this time. My heart goes out to Jamel's family and friends as they navigate through such a difficult time. I hope the investigation yields the answers they need, and that justice is ultimately served for Jamel. Stay strong, Selma. ❤️

I still can't wrap my head around the events of December 3, 2014, and how something so tragic could happen in our community. As someone who lives nearby, hearing the stories about the kind of person Jamel was—full of life and ambition—it just doesn't make any sense. I've seen a lot of people talking about Howard Wood and what might have led him to do something so horrible. I think it's really important to remember that while we want answers, we also have to be mindful of Jamel's family and friends who are dealing with an unimaginable loss right now. The small details trickling out about the investigation have me wondering about the exact nature of their relationship. Could there have been some underlying issue we don't know about? I imagine this is the kind of thing that will take time to unravel. Whatever the outcome, I hope justice is served for Jamel and that her family finds some form of peace. It truly is difficult to comprehend how a young life could be cut short so senselessly. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved her.
