I've been thinking a lot about Roosevelt Hicks and the countless others in Detroit whose cases haven't seen justice. It's painful to realize how many families like his are left waiting for answers while trying to navigate daily life without their loved ones. I recently read about the efforts of community organizations to support the police by offering resources and raising awareness. It's heartening to see people stepping up, but it also makes me question what more can be done at a systemic level? If you're from the Detroit area or familiar with similar situations, what can we, as a community, do to keep these stories alive and pressure the system to allocate more resources? It's important we don’t let cases like Roosevelt’s fade from our collective memory. The families deserve closure, and the city deserves justice. Would love to hear any suggestions or ideas on how we can contribute.
