I’ve been following the case of Ron Dwight Lane's tragic murder at Wayne Community College, and one aspect that really stands out to me is how the college community dealt with such an unexpected loss. The fact that classes were canceled the day after to allow students and staff to mourn speaks volumes about the impact Ron must have had on his community. It’s incredibly touching to see how people came together to support one another and remember a man who was not only a supervisor but also someone who clearly meant so much to those around him. This sense of community and solidarity in the face of such tragedy is something we can all learn from. My thoughts are with Ron's friends, family, and everyone affected as they continue to heal from this senseless act.

Hi everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the presence of security on college campuses, especially after the tragic incident at Wayne Community College. It’s such a devastating loss for Ron Dwight Lane's family and friends. ? My heart goes out to them as they cope with this senseless act of violence. What I can't wrap my head around is how Kenneth Morgan Stancil III, with such alarming tattoos and obvious warning signs, was able to move across multiple states before being caught. I’ve read that he was found in Daytona Beach, sleeping with a knife in his hand. It's chilling to think how these warning signs were potentially overlooked, both on campus and beyond. I’m curious how others here feel about campus security and the measures in place to protect students and staff. In light of these events, do you think there should be more rigorous checks, or perhaps behavioral monitoring systems for students who show signs of distress or radicalization? Thanks for listening and sharing your thoughts. Let’s hope that talking about these issues might lead to real change and prevent future tragedies.
