It’s so incredibly sad to think about the little girl who lost her mother in such a violent way and all the trauma that must come with that. I can't help but think about how this tragedy will impact her life moving forward. Growing up with the knowledge that her father was responsible for the loss of her mother is an unimaginable burden for a child. My thoughts are truly with her and the family members who will have to support her through this. I’ve been reading about the manhunt that took place after the shooting — it must’ve been an incredibly tense time for the community knowing that Michael Sutton was on the loose. I'm relieved to hear he was eventually caught, but I hope there are resources available for everyone affected by this, especially Tonya’s daughter. It seems like events like this remind us how quickly and violently life can change.

Every time I read about Tonya Lashawn Sutton's case, I can't help but think about her daughter. It just breaks my heart. I can’t imagine what she's going through, losing her mom in such a violent and public way at such a young age. And to top it all off, her father is the one responsible. I remember reading that her school was on lockdown when everything went down, and I just hope she was surrounded by people who cared for her during that horrific time. Schools do their best, but it must have been terrifying, with cops everywhere and not knowing if her mom was okay. It's so crucial that the community rallies around this little girl. I hope everyone around her offers as much support and love as possible to help her through the unimaginable pain and confusion she must be feeling. If anyone knows of any support groups or fundraisers happening for her, please share. She’s going to need all the support she can get in the days and years to come.
