It's been over a year since the devastating loss of JaVaun DeVaunta Graves, and I've been thinking a lot about the vigil his family held on Atlantic Street. It must have been such an emotional gathering for the community, coming together to remember him and support his loved ones. Gun violence seems to leave a lasting scar, not just for the families, but for the neighborhoods as well. I wish there was more we could do collectively to prevent these senseless tragedies. The impact on JaVaun's family is heartbreaking, and I truly hope they find peace and strength in the memories they cherish.
