I can’t stop thinking about the ripple effect Jerome's passing must have on his community. Someone so young and full of potential gone too soon, and it’s clear that his loss isn’t isolated—it’s rooted in the larger issue we see too often. The Goldsboro area has been through so much, and this tragedy shines a harsh light on the pressing need for change. I keep coming back to the reaction of his friends and family at the funeral. I imagine the outpouring of love and grief showed just how much Jerome meant to those around him. St. James Disciples of Christ Church must have been filled with not only sorrow but also powerful stories of his life—moments that made Jerome who he was. It’s so important to remember him for those reasons. While justice is the goal in cases like this, I hope that Jerome's life sparks meaningful conversations in the community. Conversations that lead to action against the violence that claimed him. What are some ways the local community could come together to support each other and prevent another tragedy like this from happening again?
