I’ve been reading about Dondre Keyshaw Nelson’s tragic case and can’t stop thinking about the impact it must have had on his kids. Losing a parent, especially in such a traumatic way, is incredibly difficult for any child to process. I hope that Nelson’s family has found support and comfort in their community during this awful time. It's good to see that the legal system held the perpetrator accountable, but nothing can truly make up for the loss of a father figure in those young lives. I’m sending strength and love to his partner and family as they continue to navigate this journey without him.

I wanted to take a moment to talk about Brandi and the kids left behind after the tragic loss of Dondre Nelson. From what I’ve read, it sounds like Dondre was doing his best to be a great dad and partner at just 20 years old. I can’t begin to imagine the hole his sudden passing has left in their lives. It’s just devastating to think about how Brandi has to navigate raising their children alone now and how the kids are growing up without their dad. Does anyone know if there were any support initiatives or community efforts to help them cope during such an unimaginably difficult time? It would be great if there were some ongoing support available for the family.
