I can't stop thinking about how Sabrina's protective order seemed to fall through the cracks in this case. It's incredibly frustrating to see someone take the brave step to speak out about domestic violence, only for the system to fail them. Sabrina did everything right by seeking legal protection, yet somehow Gerry was able to keep his firearms and ultimately do the unimaginable. I wonder if stricter checks or follow-ups could have made a difference. It just breaks my heart to think that this tragedy might have been prevented with more stringent enforcement. My thoughts are with Sabrina's loved ones during this difficult time. They must be feeling such an overwhelming mix of grief and frustration. I hope this case can serve as a wake-up call for better enforcement of protective orders, so that no one else has to suffer like this.
