I've been following Connie Jean Nealey Simmons' case, and the detail about the bullets passing through the kitchen cabinets really struck me. It just shows the utter disregard the perpetrator had, not only for Connie's life but for the sanctity and safety of her home. It's chilling to think how violent this crime was and how unsafe she must have felt in those last moments. My heart goes out to her boyfriend, James Royals, who had the devastating task of discovering her. I can't imagine what he's been through since. It's so frustrating and upsetting that no arrests have been made. How is it possible for things to be this way in a small community like Fair Bluff, where people talk and notice things? I hope someone out there knows something and finds it in their heart to come forward. We need to keep sharing her story so that justice can finally be served for Connie and her loved ones.
It’s incredibly unsettling to think about the home invasion that led to Connie Simmons' tragic death. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around why someone would commit such a cruel act without even taking anything. The fact that the bullets managed to pass through the kitchen cabinets and graze a bedroom door suggests quite a chaotic and violent scene. It makes me wonder if the perpetrator was disturbed or if the intention was to send a message rather than robbery.
I really hope the reward Governor McCrory announced encourages someone to come forward with information. My thoughts are with Connie’s family and friends; having a sense of closure would be invaluable to them. Hopefully, more details will emerge soon, and justice will be served. Does anyone else find the lack of stolen items puzzling, or am I looking too much into it?
