I was thinking about the moments leading up to that tragic night, and it's just so haunting. Rebecka must have been terrified after calling the police about the break-in. Can you imagine the fear of hearing someone breaking in, only to realize it’s your estranged husband who's a law enforcement officer? As if the stress of the custody battle and dealing with mental health issues wasn't enough. It's gut-wrenching to think how she must've felt, trying to protect her girls and herself from someone she once trusted. I've read that the community described Jeremy as mild-mannered, which just goes to show how little we sometimes know about what's happening behind the curtain in people's lives. My thoughts are with the girls and the family as they navigate this unimaginable tragedy. Stay safe and alert, everyone. Domestic violence is an unsettling reality for too many.
