Has anyone else been thinking about the implications of the restraining orders in Shantell's case? It's so gut-wrenching to learn that both Shantell and Corbett had restraining orders against each other. Clearly, things had reached a dangerous boiling point long before the tragic day on Dock Street. I can't help but feel like the legal system is missing something critical in such volatile situations. I know restraining orders are meant to offer protection, but in this case, they seem to have been just pieces of paper that did nothing to prevent the escalation of violence. My heart goes out to Shantell and her family who had to endure this nightmare. It's like the system failed her in so many ways. Does anyone think there should be more robust interventions when mutual restraining orders are involved? Maybe something that focuses on actual safety measures beyond just filing paperwork? It feels like more could be done to prevent these horrific outcomes.
